Ashitaka, one of the princes of the disappearing Emishi people, is cursed by a demonized boar god and has to journey to the west in order to find a cure for his affliction. On the way, he meets San, a young human woman who is fighting to protect the forest, and Lady Eboshi, a woman who is trying to destroy it. In order to bring balance to this conflict, Ashitaka needs to find a way to resolve it.
