After serving three years in prison for the murder of two African-American men, Derek Vineyard has been released from prison on parole. As we learn through Danny Vineyard’s narration, Derek Vineyard was a skinhead and the leader of a violent white supremacist gang that committed acts of racial crime throughout Los Angeles before being sent to prison, and his actions greatly influenced Danny as well. Fresh out of prison, Derek severs contact with the gang and vows not to let Danny follow in his footsteps.
